Mini-Bio - Dick Savage lives in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania and makes things out of old flatware (knives, forks, spoons). He got started with this about 15 years ago when his friend had him make wind chimes. About 6 years ago when he had to give up his wood shop, he decided to start creating things out of flatware at the urging of a friend who also does this. He has been retired for 14 years and now uses it to supplement his income. Some of his items are vases, plate/picture holders, candleholders, necklaces, rings, bracelets, key rings & bird feeders using teapots & kettles. He is always coming up with new ideas. This has proven to be a very interesting adventure in that he & his wife of 55 years have to hunt the material to work with. He says this keeps them young and tired out! But they are having fun and meeting a lot of interesting people. |
